The Cityvine Group is owned by one of the directors of the Rimbunan Hijau Group of Companies, a global conglomerate with investments in timber, plantation, media, oil and gas.
Established in 2002 as a response to the local business community to participate in making Sibu a Garden city, Cityvine started the import of fresh and chilled New Zealand King Salmon into Sarawak, a premium airflown fresh and chilled product from Rimbunan Hijau’s own farmed salmon in New Zealand. Cityvine also introduced Motor Shows in Sibu in 2005 and organized Sibu Tradex, an exhibition platform for local retailers at Borneo Cultural Festival, a signature event in Sibu since 2008. In line with exhibitions, launching products, events and functions, Cityvine has created print and electronic media, enhancing delivery to customers.
Cityvine is also involved in development projects to build infrastructures in plantations, established IT Infrastructures and implemented office system to enhance connectivity to the remote places in Sarawak. Cityvine also ventured into plant technology and lifelong learning.
